• Policy Coordinator, Climate Justice Alliance: Support federal policy research, advocacy, coalition coordination and engagement with frontline environmental justice organizations. This is a full-time, union-represented position paying $65,000–$75,000. Applicants must reside in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. Apply by September 21, 2026.
• Renewable Energy Legal Defense Initiative Fellow, Sabin Center for Climate Change Law: Lead research, legal advocacy and public engagement concerning renewable-energy siting, including barriers affecting communities without equal access to clean energy. Applicants must hold a J.D. or LL.M. and have two to five years of relevant legal experience. This is a one-year position with possible renewal, paying $85,000–$100,000 and expected to begin in October 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Equitable Cities Climate Law Fellow, Sabin Center for Climate Change Law: Support city-level law and policy at the intersection of climate action and racial wealth equity. Work includes research on municipal authority, community participation and access to federal climate programs. Applicants must hold a J.D. or equivalent legal degree. The one-year position pays $80,000–$95,000, with possible renewal. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Fall 2026 Climate Communications Internship, Sabin Center for Climate Change Law: Assist with the Sabin Center’s website, social media, media tracking, Climate Law Blog and press list. The unpaid internship is open to Columbia undergraduate and graduate students and runs from September through December for up to 20 hours per week. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Fall 2026 Greenhouse Gas Removal Internship, Sabin Center for Climate Change Law: Research greenhouse-gas removal technologies, potential deployments and their impacts. The unpaid internship is open to Columbia undergraduate and graduate students and runs from September through December for 10–15 hours per week. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
