Melissa Tier

Melissa Tier is a PhD candidate at the Princeton School of Public & International Affairs, focusing on urban climate adaptation and equity-based policy design and decision-making. More specifically, she examines plans for and recovery from extreme weather events such as floods and heatwaves. She holds an MSc in Sustainable Urban Development from Oxford University and a BA in Psychology from Swarthmore College. She previously worked for 5 years as the first Sustainability Program Manager at Swarthmore, leading the implementation of climate and sustainability institutional policies.
