Wen-Yuan Wang

Wen-Yuan Wang is a doctoral candidate in Behavioral Nutrition in the Department of Health and Behavior Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.

A culinary nutrition educator and food insecurity researcher, Wen-Yuan is interested in social, environmental and behavioral health determinants in sustainability and nutrition. Her research focuses on both upstream and downstream causes of food insecurity, as well as the buffering effect of nutrition education programs. She also has extensive experience in delivering nutrition programs to all age and socio-economics groups, which facilitate and promote healthy dietary habits by building both practical cooking skills and theory-oriented nutrition knowledge. As a EJCJC fellow, Wen-Yuan aims to build an open and welcoming platform for collaboration within Columbia and the community on environmental justice topics.

Wen-Yuan received a B.S. in Biochemistry and B.S.B.A. in Marketing from University of Richmond and earned her M.S. in Human Nutrition from the Institute of Human Nutrition at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
