Explore the latest resources from WE ACT for Environmental Justice and Columbia University’s Sabin Center Dismantling Injustice project that will empower local environmental justice advocacy. From the historic Warren County, North Carolina protests to the current fight to protect Chester, Pennsylvania from a Liquefied Natural Gas facility, communities of color and low-income have long stood up for their right to clean air, water, and land, despite limited resources and great challenges.
As harmful polluting projects increasingly impact vulnerable neighborhoods across the U.S. and federal environmental regulations are attacked, local advocacy toolkits are more crucial than ever. This webinar will feature new materials to help community advocates navigate complex bureaucratic, political, and legal arenas to fight fossil fuel infrastructure and develop protective community benefit agreements. With these tools, local advocates will be better equipped to protect their health and communities for present and future generations. This toolkit is a part of the Dismantling Injustice project, which began with a series of model environmental justice legislation and resources. Learn more at dismantlinginjustice.org.
