For decades, Formosa Plastics illegally dumped toxic waste into Texas’ Gulf Coast, devastating the local environment and economy. Diane Wilson‘s 2019 lawsuit led to a $50 million settlement, enforcing “zero-discharge” and funding restoration. Ecosystem restoration is crucial in battling biodiversity loss and climate change but it is increasingly exploited by industries. Genuine restoration can rebuild ecosystems and protect human rights if done the right way.

Join a webinar organized by the Center for Earth Ethics to learn about petrochemical factory hazards and community action against pollution, including Point Comfort’s revitalization efforts and why a strong international treaty on plastics is essential for protecting the rights of people and the rights of nature.
